TILE
FACTS

What are these wall tiles and how do we clean the surface?

The tiles we use are regular ceramic tiles that have been coated to receive the special inks we use. While they are extremely durable and will withstand normal non-abrasive cleaning (as most tile require to preserve their look), we recommend regular surface cleaning solutions for counters and glass. The tile is meant for indoor wall use, as it is not frost protected. It is extremely UV light resistant and will not fade in normal interior applications. (Tests have been conducted for 10 years, and the original color has not changed in standard indoor conditions.)

These tiles are in place in many museums and commercial applications,
and meet strict requirements for longevity and safety.

How hard are these tiles to install?

These tiles are simple to work with and can be cut and set, as any ceramic tile
would be. Below are the standard instructions that come with each project:

Decorative Tile Handling Instructions:

The following handling and care guidelines should be thoroughly read and reviewed
prior to installation and cleaning. Failure to do so may result in unnecessary
damage to the tile and/or graphics. We recommend that installers and
maintenance personnel be informed of these instructions prior to any activity
with the tile.

Guidelines:

- This tile is ceramic and will conform to standard measurements.

- This tile is coated with a living Polymer coating. This coating carries the color
and is extremely durable and scratch resistant, but could scratch when in contact
with metal or other hard abrasives like sand, ceramic materials, or hard surfaces.

- Do not stack tile on top of each other without the protective poly-bag between
them. Failure to do so could scratch the protective coating and image.

- It is specified for a decorative purpose and not for a wear or working surface application,
without special consideration and additional coatings.

- Using tools that are not completely clean from previous work can mar or
scratch these tiles.

- Do not set tile with butt taps from trowels or other hard instruments.

- When cutting this tile, it is best to use a saw, as the coating can prevent a clean
score mark and result in broken tile.

- Use only non-abrasive grout and cleaners.

- Do not use Muratic acid, caustic, or abrasive cleaners and solvents to clean
this tile, as it could damage the tile coating and/or affect the color.

- Use only household cleaners like Windex, 409 Glass and Counter cleaner, or
other household surface cleaners.

- Do not expose these tiles to more than 400°F of direct heat, as it can fade the
color.

- When using as a stove back splash, make sure the closest burner is at least
5" from the tile surface.

- The tiles are always marked on the back and placed with the writing on the
back in the up or normal reading position.

- The Tile map shows the image the tile will represent when it is installed, and
its number and corresponding location when viewed from the front or installed position.
